I heard a story about a truck like that about 10+ years ago. In one of the videos I watched the driver/owner claims 9 years, so maybe he was inspired by the same story I heard.

The story goes something likes this........ Guy would pull the engine out of his pro-stock Camaro and drop it into his old pickup every so often and then go hunting on the street for guys with cars that thought they were hot stuff. He'd rev his engine a bit and get them to race stop light to stop light, or whatever. They'd think they were going to show the crazy guy in the old pickup what fast was, but of course the old pickup would win every time.

Wendell Scott is one of the lesser known sagas of Nascar. He was the first Black driver, in the early 50's, and still stands as the only Black to win a race.

Anyway, point of the story is, at one point he was so poor he could only afford one engine. He put it in his truck, drove to the track, pulled it, and put it in the car. After qualifying and competing, he pulled the engine, put it back in the truck, and drove home. Men were men in those days.
